If you’ve been following me for long enough, you know how vital lube is. Regardless of age, sexual experience, hormonal makeup, or gender, lubricant is a sexual necessity. With that said, there are SO many lubricant options that it can, frankly, be pretty overwhelming. I’ve talked to you about some of my favorites, AND recently I was introduced to a company I hadn’t heard of before called #LubeLife. How do they do that? They have a lubricant for about everything (the only other brand I’ve seen do this effectively is Cake, and they are different; they differ in terms of their ingredients, so I encourage you to try both and others and see what feels best in and on your body). Today, we’re going to talk about the five items they sent me to test.

Let’s get to it. #LubeLife sent me their Water-Based Toy Lubricant, Barely There Thin Silicone Lubricant, Water-Based Cotton Candy Flavored Lubricant, 2 In 1 Massage & Lubricant, and their Foaming Toy Cleaner.

#LubeLife Water-Based Toy Lubricant

My favorite thing about this lubricant is that it’s non-staining. It’s an excellent water-based lubricant you can use with your toys (of all materials) or with a partner. It’s compatible with latex and polyisoprene condoms, but not polyurethane condoms. It lasts a long time, isn’t sticky, and doesn’t contain parabens, glycerin, silicone, or oil. It’s also FDA-cleared (many lubes are not) and made here in the USA! I’m also including the ingredient list below because while there is no glycerin in here, sometimes things like propanediol can impact some vaginal pH levels — not for everyone — but for some. 

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Propanediol, Gluconolactone, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid

#LubeLife Barely There Thin Silicone Lubricant

Here’s the thing about silicone lubricant… It’s fantastic for anal play because you don’t have to reapply it very often, it stays lube-y even in the shower, and it makes for a silky thin barrier (which feels great sometimes!) BUT (and I’m using but and not and), it CAN NOT be used with silicone sex toys or pleasure aids. I repeat. DO NOT USE SILICONE LUBRICANTS WITH YOUR SILICONE SEX TOYS.. It does stain and doesn’t rinse off with soap and water (see why it’s good for anal play?) Additionally, it only has three ingredients (listed below). This is FDA-cleared, made in the USA, and is free of parabens and glycerin. 

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Vitamin E Acetate

#LubeLife Water-Based Cotton Candy Flavored Lubricant 

I’ll be the first to admit that I do not like flavored lubes. I like tasting what I’m supposed to be tasting. WITH THAT SAID, I know many people who very much enjoy flavored lubricants — they often will say they can go back and forth between penetrative vaginal and oral sex that way, and it tastes delicious. Again, to each their own, right? We’re not here to yuck anyone’s yum. I prefer to taste the body parts, while others enjoy strawberries, chocolate, or, in this case, cotton candy. Now, many flavored lubricants are made with glycerin. If you are sensitive to yeast infections or BV, I would not recommend using this lube or any glycerin- or sugar-based lubricant. What are the benefits of this lube? It tastes like cotton candy (if you want that), is free of parabens and propylene glycol, is FDA-cleared, is non-staining, is compatible with ALL condom types and toys, and washes off easily with soap and water. 

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Flavor (Aroma), Sucralose, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid

#LubeLife 2 In 1 Massage & Lubricant

Okay, this is a really cool product that took me off guard. The tagline for this product? “A brand new take on the old-fashioned rub and tug.” (I chuckled for a solid 3 minutes after reading this) I really enjoyed this product! 

First things first — if you are sensitive to propylene glycol, do not use this product. If you are using polyurethane condoms, do not use this product. Now that we have that out of the way, this is a massage oil and lubricant in one. SO COOL. It’s non-staining (yay), made in the USA, FDA-cleared, latex-safe (rare for lubes with oil in them), and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Most massage oils on the market are thick and viscous, and this thins out without leaving a greasy or sticky layer — just moisturized with a subtle hint of coconut. There are no parabens, silicones, or glycerin in this. Again, everybody is different, so here are the ingredients to make sure there’s nothing that will irritate your bits. (You’ll notice this has the most ingredients out of all the products I reviewed… so if you have a sensitive genital area, please do a thorough read-through of these.) — This product does leave a bit of a residue, unlike a massage oil.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Flavor (Aroma), Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylate 13, Cellulose Gum, Raphanus Sativus (Radish) Seed Extract, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, PEG-45M

#LubeLife Foaming Antibacterial All Purpose Toy Cleaner 

Whenever you use a sex toy or pleasure aid, you want to make sure to clean it after — and then clean it again right before the next time you use it. Using an unscented, gentle soap with warm water does the trick for some toys and uses, but for others, it needs something with a bit of power. For example, I use toy cleaner on any toy meant for or used for anal play. How do you use it? You foam the cleaner onto or into your toy, let it sit for 10-15 seconds, and then rinse with water. Make sure you use a clean towel to dry it and then store it properly! There is no alcohol in this wash, and there are no parabens or sulfates. This toy cleaner was super practical and can be used on toys of any material.
